The Village Hotel and Cafe Neon Sign, Barstow California

Once a vibrant neon masterpiece, this 1950's era sign stands as is: faded, flawed, and fiercely authentic. I can imagine it's tubes buzzing with retro charm, beckoning weary travelers with promises of a comfortable, "Air Conditioned" place to sleep and eat. It's hard to read, but the sign says The Village Hotel, Air Conditioned, Cafe, Chop Suey. The hotel is no longer operating but the cafe still serves Chinese and American dishes. It would be great to see the sign brought back to life. Restoring it wouldn’t just be about fixing some glass tubes, it would be about preserving a treasured piece of Americana. The sign is above the cafe building on East Main Street in Barstow, CA
