The New Corral Motel, Victorville California

The motel opened in 1953 and is still in operation. The big rearing horse on the neon sign, standing as tall as the tree tops, gives a nod to Victorville's old Western Movie days. Roy Rogers' Double R Bar Ranch, located in Victorville, featured a Western-themed movie set with a wild west town including a saloon, barns, and horse stables. It was the filming location of many Western movies in the early 20th century. You can see this proud horse, rearing up against time itself, refusing to be tamed on 7th Street in Victorville, CA
