In 1960 the Pecks, former cotton farmers, built the 16 room motel. The motel closed in 1979, but the iconic neon sign remains. It seems to have a story to tell. A lot of historic motels along Route 66 have been saved by those who appreciate the nostalgia of the mother road. I'm hoping that someone comes along to save this one! You can see what remains on Old US 66 in Canute, OK
