This 1955 Ford Customline Tudor has been placed on the roof of a barn out in the country. While stopping to snap a photo, a neighbor drove by and asked if I needed any assistance, as country folk do. I asked if they knew the story behind the car. They said that they had heard that two eccentric brothers had lived there at the time and a tornado had damaged the cupola on their barn. They had taken the ford to trade it in at a local car dealer and they didn't think they were being offered a fair price for it so they said they would rather put it on top of their barn than take such a low offer. The Kickapoo Creek Rock Festival of 1970 was coming to the area and was supposed to be drawing people from all over the country. The brothers had already put a teepee on the corner of their property as a tourist attraction for all of the out of town visitors and decided to gut the ford and put it on the barn roof in place of the damaged cupola. They said the ford has a pulley system attached to it inside the barn to aid in controlling the ventilation. It's worth the time to detour off of the highway to take a look on Autumn Road in Wapella, IL
